This year University beckons – and with it a necessity to have lots of comfortable mix and match clothing (after 12 years education in full uniform)

1970’s patterns always spring to my mind for comfortable, easy to wear (and sew) options. I used view D of this 1974 pattern without the cuff on the bottom and extended as much as the piece of fabric would allow ($2 remnant from the local op shop)

Originally a working toile, they were worn last night to ice skating with friends (paired with black knit skivvy and black tights) and have been pronounced a success.

The next pair from this pattern will be ink navy and longer — going for a bit of a preppy look, I think….
